Facilitating research for land transition
The Institute is developing the Land Transition Chair, in partnership with the Gustave Eiffel University Foundation, Ensa Paris-Est and the Paris School of urban Engineering (EIVP), founding members of Gustave Eiffel University. It is guided by two principles:
-
Interdisciplinarity and the breaking down of barriers between disciplines relating to land and property, particularly between social sciences, life sciences, and spatial planning disciplines (architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning).
-
The transfer of scientific knowledge to operational, public, private and associative stakeholders.
At the crossroads of three themes (restoring the ecological functions of soils, changes in economic models of land use planning, and soil governance issues), the Chair supports research projects through theses, postdoctoral fellowships and research internships, and organises an annual interdisciplinary study cycle. The 2024 study cycle focused on renaturation, from soil to territory, from technical constraints to social issues.
