The Land Transition Institute
The Land Transition Institute is a non-profit organisation under the French law of 1901, whose objective is to place the preservation of living soils at the centre of urban and territorial issues, both in the fields of planning and construction and in civil society, and to become a forum for gathering and developing ideas on this issue at local, national and European level.
The Institute's goals are to:
-
Promote applied research on living soils and enable a real transfer of knowledge to the operational world, especially through a Land Transition Chair run in partnership with the Gustave Eiffel University Foundation and the CDC Institute for Research,
-
Develop standards for stakeholders involved in soil related projects, in order to integrate soil preservation into operational land use planning practices,
-
Advocate and act as a think tank on soil issues, promoting resources and expertise on the subject, and organising the Land Transition Forum to bring the sector together,
-
Offer tailor-made training and solutions based on the needs identified by stakeholders.
